Carrier Strike Groups

* The USS John C. Stennis CSG is currently located in the Gulf of Alaska participating in the Northern Edge 2009 joint exercises focusing on acquiring and tracking targets on land, at sea and in the air.
* The USS Harry S. Truman is currently under way in the western Atlantic Ocean conducting Composite Unit Training Exercises.
* The USS Ronald Reagan CSG has crossed the International Date Line and is currently under way in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility (AOR) as part of its scheduled deployment to the western Pacific.
* The USS George Washington CSG is currently located in the Philippine Sea conducting maritime security operations and supporting stability in the region as part of its scheduled deployment.
* The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower CSG is under way in the North Arabian Sea conducting maritime security operations in the 5th Fleet AOR.

Amphibious Ready Groups/Marine Expeditionary Units

* The USS Essex ARG and the embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) departed Okinawa, Japan on June 15 for the Talisman Saber 2009 joint exercises scheduled for July 6-26 with the Australian Defense Force in Australia.
* The USS Boxer and the embarked 13th MEU ARG is under way in the 7th Fleet AOR conducting scheduled operations.
* The USS Bonhomme Richard is currently located off the coast of Southern California conducting routine exercises.
